Memorial Day is a special day that we take very seriously over here at the Delaware River Towns Local.
Needless to say, this is the time when we reflect and honor those who have given their lives for our country. As someone who has a brother in the military, I look forward to this day every year to show my much-deserved support. The feeling seems mutual amongst the River towns.
Although a bit outside of the local area, if you’ve been to the Shop Rite in Flemington, NJ, there’s no doubt you’ve come across the legend himself, Archie Fagan. Whether he’s at the door greeting all of the customers or calling out the next big special, Archie brings a smile to everyone’s face. At age 92, he is full of contagious energy that always makes shopping more enjoyable.
Archie Fagan served our country in World War 2 and has become a local hero in Hunterdon County. On Sunday, May 26th, join us at The Flemington Jewish Community Center to hear Archie talk about his vast experiences as a veteran and what it means to be an American. Memorial Day is for showing our respect, and that’s what this event is all about, we hope to see you there.
