Washington Crossing, Pennslyvania is one of the most historic towns in this area and for a good reason! As you know from the name, this area marks where George Washington and the Continental Army crossed the Delaware River on the evening of Christmas Eve in 1776. The crossing was not only significant for being a test of character but also turning the tide of the American Revolutionary War.
As a tradition to celebrate the elaborate history, every Christmas Day the Washington Crossing, Pennslyvania community re-enacts the crossing of the Delaware River.
Also, found here is the Washington Crossing Historic Park, 500 acres of absolutely breath-taking views. We highly recommend taking the trip to Bowmans Tower, especially during fall. One of the best views of the Delaware River, hands down.
