Ready to take your workout to new heights?
Whether you go alone or with a group, the gym can be an intimidating place. With so many different machines and free weights, where do you start?
Personally, my go-to work-out is spending time outside and exploring our area’s many hiking trails. In winter, it’s
Lucky for me, the Doylestown Rock Gym has been suggested as the perfect middle-ground for exercise, and lately, I can’t get enough!
Located in an old airline hanger, you can find the Doylestown Rock Gym on the top of the hill at Doylestown Airport. The history behind this building is extensive and exciting; you can go read up on it here. Open since 2005; this gym has been a favorite in the area for birthday parties, summer camps and a whole lot more.
In the actual gym itself, you’ll find yourself surrounded by climbs of different skill levels for both bouldering and traditional climbing. If you’re looking for a great workout, take yourself to the back section. This narrow hallway lined with various grips and holds for you to explore is perfect for a workout. Trust me, after an hour of climbing you’ll be surprised how much you feel it the next morning.
The staff here act like family to the climbers and are always pleasant to newcomers. Don’t be afraid to show up for some rock climbing classes and start at square one. The instructors here are sure to make you feel at home, regardless of your skill level.
Hopefully we see you climbing at the Doylestown Rock Gym soon!
