Origins of the Hunterdon County 4-H and Agricultural Fair
After the demise of the long-running Flemington Fair in 1999, there was a necessity to have a new fair. In 2000, The Hunterdon County 4-H & Agricultural Fair was established. The 4-H Fair has a goal of celebrating agrarian heritage by providing lots of family fun while also presenting educational exhibits.
Food
The food at the 4-H Fair include a variety of tasty meals and treats to satiate anybody’s carnival urges. Cotton candy, ice cream, pizza, hot dogs, and fried Oreos are just some of the tasty foods you will find there.
Animal Shows
One of the most popular attractions to the 4-H Fair is the animal shows. Llamas, pigs, rabbits, goats, sheep, dogs, and horses get professionally judged with accolades being dispersed accordingly.
Rides
Another staple of the 4-H Fair is the rides. Among these rides are Ferris wheels, gravitons, pendulum rides, and other amusement park classics.
Fireworks
The 4-H would not be complete without the fireworks. It is by far the busiest and most anticipated night of the fair, and for good reason. The spectacle of the fireworks is something to be in awe of. The fireworks start at approximately 9:15 pm, but we highly recommend you come as early as possible to avoid the last-minute rush on parking.
Come out and have a great time with friends and family as Summer 2019 comes to an end! The admission is free, parking is $10 and wristband prices for rides can vary. We hope that you can make it!
