Festival Overview
The Doylestown Arts Festival was created in 1991 by a group of businesses and various residents. The Doylestown Arts Festival was originally made to show Doylestown’s continuing support of the culture of art and music in Doylestown. Since 1991, there is an estimate of around 15,000-25,000 visitors across the festival weekend. The Arts Festival features 160 juried artists who all demonstrate their unique abilities and skills to the visitors of the festival.
Art
The Arts Festival features 160 juried artists who all demonstrate their unique abilities and skills to the visitors of the festival. The type of art shown ranges from glasswork, photography, metalwork, jewelry, mixed, fine art, recycled art, and much more. Along with this, there are several live art demonstrations done. Among these demonstrations are wet plate photography, sand art, silk scarf painting, and glass blowing. There is also a place for children to have fun and play with art called the “Kids Zone”.
Music
Along with this, there is live music on 5 separate stages. Live music has always been a hugely important part of the festival since its inception, and the genres of the artists playing ranges from folk to rock to jazz.
Help Volunteer
Volunteering is always needed to help, and the festival committee is searching for volunteers. Helping with parking, number delivery, stage coordination, trash collection, breakdown, and cleanup is all incredibly important to supporting the legendary festival. Pre-registered volunteers will be given snacks and shirts. If you are interested in volunteering I highly suggest you visit http://dtownartsfestival.com/festival/volunteer .
Applications to be a part of the fair are currently closed, but applications for the 2020 Arts Fest begin on January 3. Have fun!
