Join us for the opening concert of The InBetween’s Third International Tour and the release of their fifth album.
ArtYard is pleased to host the genre-bending, electric guitar trio, The InBetweens , for the release of their fifth album and the start of their third international tour! Thriving on improvised tangents, disparate sonic dimensions, and rhythmic propulsion, they “collectively weave melodies and vamps into intricate spider webs of rhythm.” (Tonic, NY) The InBetweens have been described by the New York Times’ Nate Chinen, as an “exploratory trio [who] belong to a social network of musicians who filter jazz protocols through an indie-rock lens,” and their last album had Nels Cline call them “dangerous in the best way.” In addition to creating a buzz in NYC’s improvised music scene since 2002, they have toured Europe, the Northeast, the Midwest, New Orleans, and the West Coast. ArtYard is thrilled to be the first stop of their next tour around the world and to welcome back Noah Jarrett, of Choir&Co., and InBetweens’ bandmates Mike Gamble and Conor Elmes for an evening concert and album release in the ArtYard theatre.

ABOUT THE BAND
The InBetweens have been creating experimental, genre-bending, and fully engaging music for more than 15 years. Living, working, and playing music together for over a decade in Boston and Brooklyn, they have been blurring genre lines since 2002. Mike Gamble (electric guitar/effects), Noah Jarrett (double bass), and Conor Elmes (drums) developed their deep energetic chemistry with the help of some of the great masters of their instruments at The New England Conservatory in Boston, MA (such as Bob Moses, George Garzone, John Lockwood, John Abercrombie).
The InBetweens have four recordings up to date; two self-released albums:“Inbetweens” and “A Long Time Gone” and two records officially released on Madison WI’s Layered Music: “Quantum Cowboy” and “Out On A Limb.”
