Howell Farm invites the public to join forces with its staff and volunteers on Saturday, April 25. Visitors will help the farm plant a special crop of potatoes that will be harvested, and donated to the Greater Mercer Food Cooperative and other local hunger projects. Visitors to the 130-acre “living history” farm can join the field crew any time between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., when help is needed planting potato seeds in furrows opened with horse-drawn equipment. Parking and admission are free. For any questions or concerns please contact the farm office at (609) 737-3299.
