Event Details

While brambles are rightly well know for their exquisite flavor, they also have a rather prickly reputation. This will be a talk and presentation focused on the practical aspects of growing Rubus brambles organically. This will include what cultivars work best in our area, what problems to watch out for, managing weeds, trellis options, and more. So if you’ve always wanted to grow brambles, but didn’t know where to start, or if you are growing them already but without much success, this is just the talk for you!

Soup & Salad will be served
$15 Admission Fee

Speaker, Adam Dusen is a permaculture farmer, designer, educator, and self-described “fruit nut.” At Hundred Fruit Farm in Buckingham, PA, he grows a wide variety of fruits, berries, nuts and herbs–as well as some vegetables and mushrooms–all in a “beyond organic” fashion, without sprays or chemical fertilizers of any kind and using sheep, pigs and chickens to help manage his crops. When not farming, Adam creates fruit-filled permaculture designs for local clients and runs an annual permaculture design course at his farm.
