A holiday tradition at Peddler’s Village since 1984, the Gingerbread Competition and Display is a feast for the eyes with more than 75 creative and whimsical entries in these categories: Traditional, Authentic Reproduction Around the World, 3-D, Movie or TV Set, Winter Wonderland, Holiday on Wheels, Student, and Kids Only. The Gingerbread entries will be on exhibit during shopping hours from November 19 through January 8, 2022. Admission is free.
The Competition
Winners receive:
1st Place: $350

1st Place: 4 Giggleblerry Fair Activity Passes, 1 Pizza Pie, 4 Refillable Soft Drinks
2nd Place: 4 Giggleblerry Fair Activity Passes, 4 Pizza Slices, 500 Prize Tickets
3rd Place: 2 Giggleblerry Fair Activity Passes, 1000 Prize Tickets
Grand Prize: One overall winner will be picked out of the entries to be displayed in a special viewing area! This gingerbread will be judged on overall creativity, craftsmanship, adherence to category theme and wow factor. PRIZE: $450 · Dinner for 4 at Cock ‘n Bull
Winners will be posted on the Peddler’s Village website by November 19, 2021. Prizes will be mailed the week of January 9, 2022. The winners’ list will not be available by phone.
Judging
Entries will be judged the week of November 15, 2021. Entries will be judged on a scale of 1-5 based on:
1. Overall appearance/composition of the design
2. “Holiday Spirit” incorporated in the design
3. Originality/imagination/use of materials
4. Difficulty of design/design execution
5. “Fit” in category
Entry Drop Off
Completed gingerbread creations must be brought to Peddler’s Village on Sunday, November 14, 2021, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. All entries must remain in Peddler’s Village for display from November 19, 2021 through January 8, 2022. Entries that are removed from Peddler’s Village by the entrant prior to the close of the display will forfeit eligibility to win prizes. Eligibility to enter the Gingerbread Competition for the coming year will also be forfeited.
