Event Details

What To Expect:
Hike through the woods of Bucks Audubon as we blend art and science with this advanced botanical illustration class!
After a hike to measure, observe, and photograph these winter wildflowers, we will head back to the center for warm drinks (coffee/hot cocoa provided in re-useable mugs), to learn how to enlarge subjects for illustration, how to “grey wash” with colored pencil to add dimension and depth, and to practice some techniques to accurately portray these plants.
Who Can Attend?
This Botanical Illustration Class is ideal for those who have taken my illustration workshops in the past, or have experience with basic drawing techniques. Participants should understand how to draw basic shapes, how to incorporate basic shadows and highlights, as well as how to blend colors using colored pencil. Participants should also understand the basic parts of a plant and know what to look for in order to properly identify plants.
Inclement Weather & Other Details:
Snow day is Feb. 27th, still from 2 PM – 4:30 PM. In the case of inclement weather, Marissa will email all registered participants the morning of February 26th and post on Instagram/Facebook. The class will be rescheduled for the next day at the same time/location. If participants cannot attend the snow day, they will be issued a refund or a $40 credit to another event or shop/merch items.
