2019 Canal O Ween Jack O Lantern Stroll

Canal-O-Ween’s™ 11th Annual Jack-O-Lantern Stroll™, sponsored by ShopRite, and run by Experience Yardley is a great and free family-friendly activity to enjoy in an unplugged environment that also happens to be a beautiful setting. The Stroll’s Night’s Lighting for the 27th is made possible by T. Foster and Company, located right here in downtown Yardley!

Imagine strolling along the beautiful Delaware Canal through the historic Borough of #Yardley, in #BucksCounty, PA on a crisp fall day around #Halloween. As dusk settles in, hundreds of carved Jack-O-Lanterns flickering with warm light guide your way forward for over a quarter of a mile. It’s an old-fashioned, low-tech, magical way to celebrate Halloween, All Souls Day, and the transition to darker and colder days. Join us!

Over 350+ Jack-O-Lanterns will be set out along the 1/4 mile of the Delaware Canal immediately following the 2019 Canal O Ween Carve O Thon for the first night’s lighting. The Jack-O-Lantern Stroll™:
When: In 2019 the Stroll will kick off on Sunday October 27th and go through Saturday Nov. 2nd.

Where: The Delaware Canal Towpath, leading north from the East Afton Avenue Bridge to the end of the paved road (North Edgewater Avenue), approximately 1/4 mile.

Night comes quickly and it gets very dark. A couple of tips to make your experience more pleasant:

Please lock your cars behind you.
Wear comfortable shoes.

And if you wish to bring a flashlight, please cover it with red cellophane. This provides adequate light without disrupting the magical nighttime experience of the glowing Jack-O-Lanterns.

PARKING

Vehicles are permitted to park at the at PECO Substation at Morgan & Fuld Avenues (look for signs and see map, below). Cars/vehicles MUST park parallel to the canal. Note: DO NOT PARK WITH THE NOSE OR TAIL OF YOUR VEHICLE FACING INTO THE CANAL.

Parking on Morgan Ave. between Maple Ave. and Brown St. will be limited to one side. There will be no parking on Maple Ave. Please look for signage.

This event is to be enjoyed by foot, wheelchair, or stroller. Vehicular access is limited to residents only. If you are driving in the area please remember to look out for pedestrians. Friends and neighbors coming out to view the pumpkins please use the sidewalks and crosswalks in the downtown.

There is also free public parking downtown! Why not grab some food and beverage before or after your Canal-O-Ween visit and then walk over to the canal for the Stroll!
