Not all of us are lucky enough to make it to Germany for Oktoberfest. Fortunately, we’ve got you covered.
People may not pin Pennsylvania or New Jersey as Oktoberfest destinations. Trust me, the Delaware River Towns are perfect places to celebrate. Who doesn’t enjoy a refreshing beer with a view?
New Hope, Pennsylvania has tons of events for Oktoberfest to keep you busy. One of our favorite activities for this time of the year is at Triumph Brewing Company. They will have family and adult fun with more than enough beers to try.
New Hope’s own, Mayor Laurence Keller, will be kicking off the event.
The traditional tapping of the first barrel of Oktoberfest will begin at noon. This tapping will start the day, particularly the more child-friendly activities. One of the best parts about Oktoberfest at Triumph is the family fun. No, Oktoberfest doesn’t only have to be about spilling your over-sized mug. Different kid-friendly activities will take place from Noon to 6:00 pm. Including face painting, a balloon artist, a magician, and the balloon drop. The balloon drop will be at 3:00 pm so make sure you grab a spot!
After the family fun, Triumph will be conducting a stein holding contest. How can you test strength and dexterity any better than competitively holding a massive beer jug? There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners! Make sure you sign up at 4:30 pm before the contest starts at 5:00 pm.
Make sure you arrive at Triumph early, so you don’t miss out on any of the fun! The Firehouse Polka Band starts off at Noon and will be playing until 4: 00 pm. Essie & the Big Chill then rocks out from 8:00 pm to 12:00. Please keep in mind nightly events are for ages 21+.
Friends, family, live music and good beer; that’s what Oktoberfest is all about (mostly just the beer). Join the party, all day and all night, at Triumph Brewery on October 6 from 11:30 AM to 1 AM. See you there!
