Today, we’d like to introduce you to Faye Adinda, a local musician and artist.
Hey Faye. Thank you for joining us today. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I am a singer/songwriter, musician, and artist. I create music and art for self-love, healing, empowerment, and compassion for ourselves and all beings. My mission is to share these songs so they may be in service to others on their path of healing and self-discovery.
I have a degree in psychology, have studied many types of therapies, philosophies, and spiritual paths. I implement the teachings that have resonated with me, along with teachings of my own experiences, into my songs which I referred to as “Medicine Music”.
I typically perform at spiritual, yoga & music festivals or centers, but I also enjoy playing in more intimate settings, like house concerts. I have recently started conducting workshops to help people create their own personalized heart-song, to soothe and alleviate individual hardships. I am also an experienced song-leader for group song circles.
I am currently recording my debut studio album scheduled to be released by the end of the year.
Are you originally from the area or did you relocate here?
I was born in The Netherlands and moved to West Chester, PA when I was 8 years old. I spend most of my childhood and early adult life in West Chester. I moved to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2011 and lived there for 7 years. During the Volcanic Eruption of 2018, I had to leave where I was living and decided to move in with my family in New Hope where I got an opportunity to work on my album.
What are your favorite activities to do around the Delaware River Towns?
I love walking and biking down the canals along the Delaware River, especially during the spring and fall, it is so beautiful and peaceful. I really enjoy visiting Bowman’s Wildflower Preserve to learn about wildflowers and native plants. I also love John Beacher’s Open Mic at Karla’s Restaurant. Some of my favorite places to eat are Sprig & Vine, Jaffron’s, and Jess’s Juice bar.
What makes the Delaware River Towns such a special place to live or visit?
There are many beautiful nature spots, parks, walking/biking trails around the area and along the canals, and many wonderful places to connect with the river. The people are friendly and there is a general openness to all walks of life. There are several local farms and farmers markets, lots of start up businesses, and unique hand-made products and art.
