Join us for a workshop with acclaimed artist & ArtYard’s own Artistic Director, Elsa Mora, of her original paper sculpture techniques.
ArtYard is honored to host a workshop by acclaimed artist and ArtYard’s own Artistic Director and Curator, Elsa Mora , of her original paper sculpture techniques, developed from her own research and artistic practice. Join us for the first-ever demonstration and hands-on introduction to these techniques: featuring a wide array of dry and wet paper sculpture methods, with a diversity of paper.
In this 3 hour workshop, participants will observe a 45 minute demonstration of a variety of paper sculpting practices, followed by a two hour hands-on session in which they will complete two of their own works. Learn about the beautiful possibilities of paper as a dynamic, expressive, and three-dimensional medium. This workshop is in conjunction with the exhibition, Paper Weight: Works in Paper by Elsa Mora , on view at ArtYard from January 18 – April 12, 2020.
Paper enthusiasts of all levels are welcome, ages 18 and up. This workshop will take place at ArtYard on Saturday, February 22, 2020, from 10 AM-1 PM. This workshop has limited space so please sign up early.
The cost of the workshop is $200, which includes the cost of materials.
