Coming this Spring, Lambertville will be hosting the 39th annual Shad Fest. While the Festival draws its name from the saltwater fish that returns to the Delaware every April to spawn, the festival offers way more than just the fish the weekend is named for. The two-day street fair occurring April 27 & 28 2019 offers music, arts, crafts, and food.

What is Shad?
Shad if often called the Poor Mans Salmon because of the freshwater spawning they hold in common. Although the Shad is able to be eaten it is not a fan favorite. But don’t worry- Shad Fest is about so much more than just the fish!
Food
You can expect Shad Chowder cookoffs in addition to fried Oreos, tacos, and other fair food. Make sure to check out the Beer Garden and other food options in the Lambertville Station parking lot, there should be quite a crowd!
Arts & Crafts
Don’t forget about the artists! This event includes a sale (to the highest payer) of hundreds of donated works for talented local artists held in the First Presbyterian Church on N. Union Avenue. The money benefits local students chasing after an education in the arts.
The James Hamilton Shad Festival Scholarship Fund
At Shad Fest 2020, the winners of the James Hamilton Shad Festival Scholarship Fund will be announced. The fund has raised over half a million dollars since 1981 for local students studying artistic studies in college.
