Inside Out is a comedy-adventure set inside the mind of 11-year old Riley after she is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco. Her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness – conflict over how best to navigate a new city, house, and school. An innovative animated film about which A.O Scott of the NY Times wrote: “You will look at the screen and know yourself.” Join us for a film that explores both the “radically new” and “instantly recognizable” inner worlds of the brain, emotions and consciousness, in conjunction with the exhibition, Paper Weight: Works in Paper by Elsa Mora.
PRAISE
“This world is both radically new — you’ve never seen anything like it — and instantly recognizable, as familiar aspects of consciousness are given shape and voice. Remember your imaginary childhood friend? Your earliest phobias? Your strangest dreams? You will, and you will also have a newly inspired understanding of how and why you remember those things. You will look at the screen and know yourself.” -A.O Scott, NY Times.
