1. The KING BROTHERS are the Philadelphia area’s sensational acoustic musical duo and we’re not just saying so because we’re writing this! The KING BROTHERS bring all of their drive and tight vocal harmonies to the Irish folk genre as well as to American folk and bluegrass from festival stages in New Jersey or Ireland, or in clubs and pubs from Pennsylvania to Virginia, the KING BROTHERS deliver solid professional musical entertainment! The KING BROTHERS are John Catterall & Paul Kenney. Instrumentally, the duet expertly performs in various combinations, on guitar, 5-string banjo, mandolin, bouzouki and tenor banjo. Their instrumental interplay is at times hauntingly spare and beautiful in support of a lovely Irish ballad. At other times, the powerful drive of cascading notes can bring an audience to the very edge of madness. The KING BROTHERS have been entertaining on festival and pub stages in PA DE NJ and VA for well over 20 years and have been fortunate enough to have been repeat performers at a music festival in Dunmore East, Co. Wicklow, Ireland! We also have two recordings: “The King Brothers” and “Songs of Ireland”.
