Bucks County Foodshed Alliance presents Growing Herbs through the Seasons on Wednesday, February 6, 2018, 7 pm at the Newtown Township Building in Newtown. Learn about growing herbs for culinary and medicinal use all year round. The Newtown Township Building is located at 100 Municipal Drive, Newtown, PA 18940.
This program will be led by Linda Shanahan, a practitioner, educator, farmer and medicine maker. Co-owner of Barefoot Botanicals, a certified organic herb farm in Doylestown, Linda is also a Registered Nurse with over a decade of experience providing care in the hospital setting and a Master’s degree in Nursing. She is a certified herbalist with more than two decades of experience studying, growing and using herbs.
Linda will share some of the many ways to use herbs in food, beverages, and to build your herbal medicine cabinet. You will discover new herbs to grow, new ways to preserve the herbs you love, and exciting things to make with them. Join us for a great evening.
Barefoot Botanicals is a certified organic farm based in Doylestown specializing in medicinal and culinary herbs. Farmed by Linda and husband Eric Vanderhyde, Barefoot Botanical provides culinary and medicinal herbs to medicine makers, brewers and distillers, chefs and bartenders, and individuals. Their herbs are sold fresh, dried, as herbal oils, hydrosols, and syrups. Workshops and hands on herbal education is an important part of the work they do. Learn more at barefootbotanicals.net.
This event is $5. Pre-registration will open soon.
